The virtues of learning Quran
The glorious Quran is the last and final revelation of Allah (SWT) which was revealed to the last messenger Muhammed peace be upon him. The glorious Quran is the most positive book in the world. It is a proclamation to humanity, a fountain of mercy and wisdom, a guide to the lost, a warning to the heedless, an assurance to those in doubt, a solace to the suffering and a hope to those in despair.
If you wish to gain all these privileges, your only way is to learn how to read Quran, how to ponder over its great meanings and how to implement these great meanings in your everyday life.
I have once heard Shaikh Dr. Ayman Suwayed, the Arab Icon in Quran Reading and Recitation, giving a sincere advice saying that the best thing to spend your life in is learning the Quran then teaching it. Dr. Ayman goes on saying that when you grow up and remember how many Surahs you have learned and how many people you have taught, you will find the true happiness and success.
Any pleasure in this life is not lasting for so long. Once you the trip or the meal, the pleasure is finished too. Except for the acts of worship, it’s the happiness that you feel its blessing in this life and the reward is waiting for you in the hereafter.
Here are some prophetic Hadiths that could galvanize you into action:
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:
“The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Allah has His own people among mankind.’ They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, who are they?’ He said: ‘The people of the Qur’an, the people of Allah and those who are closest to Him.'”
‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The one who was devoted to the Qur’an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: ‘Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.”‘
Narrated Aisha:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Such a person as recites the Qur’an and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). And such a person exerts himself to learn the Qur’an by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.”
Narrated `Uthman bin `Affan:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The most superior among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
In conclusion we ask Allah for all of us to make the Great Qur’an the springtime of our hearts, the light of our chests, the remover of our sadness, and the pacifier of our worries.
